G-Power BMW M3 E46
The old BMW from 2000 to 2007 enjoys still great popularity BMW M3 E46, although since 2008 of the 420 hp, power and dynamism shows strong successor. G-Power took the BMW M3 E46 under its wing and missed this rich power of 450 hp, so the old M3 is not only stronger but also more nimble than the new M3 is – in stock condition of course.
The “G-Power SK I Sporty Drive” compressor system provides the 3.2-liter inline six cylinder with the necessary boost to the output from standard 343 hp and 365 Nm to a strong 450 horsepower at 7,000 trips and 460 nm torque from 5,500 rpm.
A power increase of 107 hp compared to the standard output leaves its mark on the performance. Thus, it improved sprint from 0 to 200 km / h of 18.1 seconds in standard trim to 14.7 seconds. Not bad for a vehicle that already in 2000, came into the automotive world and much faster than the current 420-hp BMW M3 V8, which requires 15.8 seconds.
The maximum speed of the old M3 is located after the procedure of G-power at over 300 km/h. G-power not announced unfortunately the new spurt value from 0 to 100 – the old M3 did this discipline as standard in 5.2 seconds; the new M3 with 420 hp it provides up to 4.6 seconds.
Responsible for the performance of explosion records the heart of the compressor system, the large ASA T1-518 centrifugal compressor. The compressors are also used in the ASA Alpina models B5S, B6S and B7 as well as in the original Alpina B6 GT3 race cars to use.
The “G-Power Silverstone Diamond” set of wheels in 20 inch; in conjunction with the “Michelin Pilot Sport” tires of sizes 245/30 ZR 20 front and 285/25 ZR 20 rear is a speed limit of more than 300 km / h. Specially designed for BMW models, the Silverstone alloy wheel is typical double spokes and the by for G-power “concave design”.
Another feature of the rim is its weight-optimized design. It was able to realize G-Power with the same stability compared to other standard wheels have a lower rim weight. A perceptibly improved impression of convenience and a considerably increased agility accompany the minimization of the unsprung mass.
This reduces the rotational inertia is many times and thus provides a noticeably more agile acceleration and faster cornering speeds. Support is also the driving behavior of an in height and rebound adjustable coilover suspension.
The negative acceleration occurs at G-Power is not too short. With six pistons and 370-millimeter brake discs on the front axle and 342 millimeters at the rear-sized counterparts, the new braking system enables a much greater braking power than the standard brakes. G-Power rounds out the package with brake pads with a larger contact surface, higher friction and metal-coated brake line.
Not included in the “SK I Sporty Drive” compressor system for the BMW M3 E46, but still worth considering is the handmade stainless steel sport rear muffler with 4 x 76 mm large tailpipes. The sound is strong in the low engine speed and athletic hot in the mid and upper rpm range, should the muffler perfectly the significantly increased sportiness of the BMW M3 E46 underline. This is made possible by the sound “Deep tone” technology from G-Power.
